Can You Love Others If You Do Not Love Yourself?

I found a quote the other day about being at peace with yourself. This is it:

The joy of love is possible only if you have known the joy of being alone, because then only do you have something to share. Otherwise, two beggars meeting each other, clinging to each other, cannot be blissful. They will create misery for each other because each will be hoping, and hoping in vain, that “The other is going to fulfil me.” The other is hoping the same. They cannot fulfil each other. They are both blind; they cannot help each other…

In other words, we cannot rely on others to give us unselfish love, if they are still searching for that love themselves.

Neither can we give unselfish love to another human being, if we are still looking to them to reflect love back to us. They will be incapable fo doing so, and so will we.

This happens in relationships a lot. We look for someone we hope we can live our loves with. And that is ok.

But if we are expecting that relationship to give us all the love we need, we are mistaken. And our partner. If he or she is also looking to us to fulfill their needs for love, then they will find us wanting.

And so the relationship will fail. It may struggle on as we search for some way to find that love. But if we cannot love ourselves, we will be looking in the wrong place.

We cannot cure our loneliness by relying on the love of others. We have to be at peace and harmony with ourselves first.

All you need is a Mirror and Trust To See Your Guardian Angel Or Spirit Guide

Some people find that they can easily see their angel and spirit guide over their left and right shoulder by staring into a mirror. So why not give it a try?

Get into a psychic state. Take three long, deep breaths and on the outward breath relax and know you are with your guide.

Then, as you continue to breathe deeply, focus on your eyes in the mirror and stare with a soft gaze.

It is easier to see the outline of your guides and angels by not staring at them directly.

Through the corner of your eyes, what do you see?

Spiritual and Psychic Development With Tarot Card Readings

In following our spiritual path or in trying to find out how to improve our psychic development, we often look for ways to focus our minds. Many use meditation as their main way of focusing, but others prefer to gaze at candles or mirrors and go into a psychic trance.

Many who follow the journey to spiritual awareness like using Tarot Cards. And Tarot Cards can be a valuable tool to understanding yourself, spiritual and physical, and developing your spiritual awareness and Psychic Abilities.

Getting To Know Your Inner Soul - A Soul Affirmation

As part of our Spiritual Development, we need to be aware of the strength of our Soul. Many believe that the soul goes through many reincarnations until it reaches the ultimate goal. Some (including those who follow Buddhism and Jainism) call this ‘Nirvana’, the state of being free from both suffering and the cycle of rebirth.

Some spiritualists do not believe in reincarnation, as they see the soul as the spirit which can communicate with us when we become spiritually aware.

Personally, I do believe that souls are reincarnated. And I see the spirit as an entity of that soul, which can communicate with us from the afterlife, until the soul reaches its final destination.

However, whatever your particular views on this, we must all believe that the soul is strong. In fact, getting to know our inner soul will give us strength.

This is a small poem I found which echoes this:

A Safe Haven

When life gets stormy, feel safe in the knowledge that the soul cannot be touched by whatever external forces may upset your equilibrium.

Like a ship that finds shelter in a harbor, you can find refuge in your soul whenever things become unsettled: it is the safe, calm center of your being.
